Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Rated Piano Movers (ratedpianomovers.com) collects, why, and who receives it. We keep it short and plain.

Who we are

Rated Piano Movers is an independent directory of piano movers. We are not a moving company. We list businesses that move pianos and pass quote requests to them.

Quote requests

When you request a quote on a city page, we collect what you enter in the form: your name, your phone number and/or email address, the ZIP codes you are moving from and to, your piano type, and anything else you choose to tell us, such as stairs, a date or notes. The form names the one business your request goes to before you send it.

We use your request only to deliver it to that one business, so it can contact you about it. We may receive a copy ourselves in order to deliver it and to check it arrived. We do not send it to any other business.

By submitting the form, you agree that the business named on it may contact you about your request by phone call, text message or email, including calls or texts sent with automated technology. Your consent is not a condition of any purchase, and you can ask the business to stop at any time. In a city where no business is named on the form, your request comes to us, and we tell you which business we suggest before we pass on your details. That business handles your information under its own privacy practices once it has it.

We send these emails through an email delivery provider, Resend.

If you use our contact form, we receive your name, email address, the reason you chose, any business name and city you add, and your message, and we use them only to reply to you. It reaches us through the same email provider.

Bot protection

The quote form and the contact form may use Cloudflare Turnstile to check that a person, not an automated program, is sending them. When it is on, Turnstile processes information about your browser and device, including your IP address, to do this. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.

Counting taps on listings

When you tap Call, Website, Directions or the Google reviews link on a listing, or send a quote request, we add one to a running total: what was tapped, for which business and city page, and in which month. We use these totals to understand which listings people use. They do not include your name, contact details or IP address, and counting them does not use cookies or store anything in your browser.

Cookies and Do Not Track

We do not use advertising or analytics cookies, and we do not track you across other websites. Cloudflare, which hosts the site and may run the bot check, may set strictly necessary security cookies. Because we do not track you across sites, we do not respond differently to “Do Not Track” browser signals: there is no cross-site tracking to turn off.

Hosting and maps

This site is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes basic technical information (such as your IP address and browser type) to deliver pages and protect the site. City pages show maps from OpenStreetMap; your browser loads map images directly from OpenStreetMap’s servers. See the OpenStreetMap Foundation privacy policy.

Links to other sites

Listings link to movers’ own websites and to Google (for reviews and directions). Once you follow one of those links, that site’s own privacy policy applies, not this one.

Who receives your information

We share your quote request only with the one business you choose to send it to, which the form names before you submit, because you ask us to. We do not sell your personal information to anyone else or share it for cross-site advertising. Apart from that business, only the service providers that run this site for us (hosting, email delivery and, if used, bot protection) handle it, and only to provide those services.

How long we keep it, and how we protect it

We keep quote requests and contact messages only as long as we need them to handle your request and keep a record that it was delivered, and we delete them sooner if you ask. We use reasonable safeguards, such as encrypted connections and limited access, to protect what we hold. No method of sending or storing information is completely secure.

Your choices

You can ask us what information we hold about you, or ask us to delete it. We will delete our copy of your quote request or contact message on request. The business you sent it to holds its own copy; contact that business directly to ask it to delete its copy or to stop contacting you.

Your state privacy rights

Depending on where you live, including California, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, and to have it deleted, and you will not be treated differently for asking. We do not sell your personal information or share it for cross-site advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of. Use the contact page above for any of these requests; we will confirm we received it and respond within 45 days.

Children

This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update this page and the date below.
